As a great religion, Buddhism is not just a
religion that guides its
followers to purify the mind
and to achieve inner peace. In the
worldly aspects,
Buddhism has also contributed
to the creation of many
cultural and art works.
Through the impact with other civilisations
during the dissemination
of Buddhism,
a vast variety of colourful and graceful
Buddhist culture
and art have also emerged.
The Buddhist culture and art
have the
wisdom and compassion
of the Buddha as their intrinsic characteristic,
therefore are more often than
not would inspire anyone
that comes into
contact with them.
In the spirit of the above understanding,
Buddhist organisations
in the country,
especially those in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor,
have
under the inspiration of
Ven Sarankara, organised themselves
to work
together to hold
a Buddhist Culture and Arts Festival.
